A teacher from the Perry School District is facing several felony charges today after an investigation found he was receiving funds from the district for tutoring services he wasn’t providing.
Perry Police arrested 39-year-old Jason Anderson, of Castile, on 25 felony count, including Grand Larceny, Defrauding the government, and 23 separate counts of offering a false instrument for filing.
Perry Police coordinated their investigation with New York State Police.
Anderson was suppose to be tutoring a student from the Perry School district but was instead receiving paychecks for work he did not complete. Police estimate Anderson took over $4,000 from the school between October 2016 and March 2017.
He’s being held in the Wyoming County Jail. He’s scheduled to return to court in June.
