Border officers say inconsistencies in the spare tire of a car entering from Canada led them to 12 pounds of cocaine.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers say the car was driven by a Canadian woman across the Rainbow Bridge from Niagara Falls, Ontario into Niagara Falls, New York, on Thursday.
After a primary interview, the woman was sent for a secondary exam. That's when officers examining her car detected problems with its spare tire. Inside the tire, they found six vacuum-sealed bags of cocaine with a street value of just under $200,000.
The driver's name hasn't been released. She's charged with possession of a controlled substance.
