Deputies in Chautauqua County rang in the new year with separate meth lab busts, one on New Year’s Eve and a second on New Year’s Day.
The first bust took place around 8:45 p.m. Thursday on West Railroad Avenue in Stocktown. Jesse Erhard, 34, was arrested and charged with third degree unlawfully manufacturing methamphetamine.
Deputies say they were previously at the home on December 22 to serve a warrant on another person when they discovered the meth lab operation. A HAZ-MAT team was called to the scene to remove the toxic chemicals.
Erhard was taken to the Chautauqua County Jail on $25,000 bail.
The following day, deputies arrested Shaun Ellison, 34, on the same charge. Deputies were called to Lodi Street in Forestville around 2 p.m. on an unrelated issue when they discovered a meth lab.
Deputies say in addition to the lab, they found eight ounces of meth oil. Additional charges are expected after the oil is analyzed in a lab.
Ellison was taken to the Chautauqua County Jail. State Police were called in to help process and clean the scene.
Authorities continue to ask members of the community to call either 800-344-8702 or 716-363-0313 whenever they observe narcotics related activity within their community.
