Four teens have been charged with setting a fire at a condemned home on West 9th Street in Jamestown.

Firefighters were called around 5 p.m. Friday, when heavy smoke was seen coming from the first floor of the vacant house. After the flames were extinguished, investigators determined the fire had been intentionally set.

Witnesses reported seeing four teens running from the area prior to the fire call.

Police located and charged two 16-year-old boys and a 14- and 13-year-old juvenile with starting the fire.

The older teens were taken into custody on charges of third degree arson and third degree burglary. They were being held pending arraignment. Their names were not released.

The younger teens were petitioned to Family Court and were released to their parents.
