The Livingston County Sheriff's Office says a 32-year-old man faces charges after he shot at a deer and hit a house instead.
The incident happened Saturday, the first day of the regular big game season, in the town of Leicester. Sheriff's deputies received a call that a house had been struck by a stray bullet. The bullet broke a window and hit a desk in the home office. No one was hurt.
Deputies found Jay Campbell of Scottsville nearby and determined that he had shot at a deer with his muzzle loader. He was charged with reckless endangerment and criminal mischief.
