A man who had sex with an underage girl has been convicted of violating the conditions of his supervised release by getting into a relationship with a woman who has a 5-year-old child.

Terry Finn, 51, of Buffalo was sentenced in August 2008 to 52 months in prison and five years supervised release for convincing a 16-year-old girl to travel from Vermont to Brocton to meet and have sex with him. As part of his release, Finn was ordered to participate in mental health intervention for sex offenders.

His supervised release began in February 2012. In March 2014, he was referred to Mid-Erie Counseling for sex offender treatment.

Finn was terminated from the program this past September for failing to inform the counseling service or his probation officer that he had become romantically involved with a woman who has a 5-year-old child.

For violating the terms of his supervised release, Finn will spend the next nine months in jail.
