A Grinch stole a leg lamp from the well-known Christmas display at Yankee Spirits Liquor Store in North Tonawanda.
Store owner Gary Brennan says the man waited for the front of the store to clear before swiping the four-foot lamp from the window display.
Brennan says the lamp, made famous by the movie “A Christmas Story,” has been a big part of his life.
“It’s always been in my front window. We’ve always had “A Christmas Story” display. It’s a big thing in my life and I’ve always pushed it and customers love it. And the customers are literally more upset than I man because they couldn’t believe it could happen.”
The investigation into who stole the lamp is ongoing. Brennan says he has not heard any updates from police.
