While being taken into custody Wednesday, a Wyoming County man repeatedly kicked a deputy, the sheriff’s office reports.

Deputies were called to a home on Railroad Avenue in Silver Springs to check on the welfare of 30-year-old James Allen. Officers took him into custody but while walking him to a patrol vehicle he began to scream and fight with deputies, kicking one repeatedly.

Allen is charged with second degree assault and second degree obstruction of governmental administration.

After being arraigned, he was taken to Wyoming County Jail on $2,500 bail.
