Police in Jamestown have arrested a 26-year-old man they say lit three homes on fire, dating back to October 2014.
Joshua Whalen is charged with three counts of third degree arson and is being held on $75,000 bail. Police say he lit a home on McKinley Avenue on fire on October 25, 2014; a home on Falconer Street on May 18, 2015, and a home on North Main Street last Christmas Eve.
Police did not say why Whalen targeted these homes, but they were vacant and they are investigating if Whalen is connected to other fires.
The fire on North Main Street was set around 6:10 a.m. Christmas Eve and just days later, another home on North Main Street was lit on fire and a home on Spring Street was lit on fire just hours after it.
