No headlights lead to aggravated DWI arrest

A Town of Sherman man was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated after he was stopped by police for not have his headlights on.

The Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office said Gregory E. Auge, 32, of Sherman was stopped along Pratt Street in the Village of Mayville early Sunday morning for having less than two lighted head lamps illuminated.

Following an investigation by the sheriff's deputy, Auge was charged with DWI and aggravated driving while intoxicated because of an elevated blood alcohol allegedly over .18 percent.

He was also charged with a vehicle and traffic violation and refusing to take a pre-screen breath test.

Auge was released and will appear in Chautauqua Town Court.
