A man was attacked with a machete, requiring over 80 stitches in his arm, and police say when his attacker got out on bail he threatened to kills officers during a second altercation.
Police say Dwayne Bennett, 26, of Lackawanna was caught on video attacking a 40-year-old man on Steelawanna Avenue with a machete at a store. Authorities say Bennett left the store and then a group of men pulled up in a car and continued to attack the victim.
The victim was sliced along his arm and needed more than 80 stitches to close the wound.
Bennett was arrested and taken to jail on $75,000 bail. But shortly after he was released on bail, he was again taken into custody.
Police say they were called to Olcott Street for a domestic complaint where a woman told them she was scared after getting into a verbal fight with Bennett.
Officers say while trying to talk to Bennett, he became hostile and shoved one of them. He allegedly fought with officers while they then took him into custody, threatening to kill two of them.
He was taken back to jail on charges of resisting arrest and obstructing governmental administration.
