A man now admits he stole cell phones and more than $1,000 at gunpoint this summer.
Marlin Haynes, 22, of Buffalo held up a Cricket Wireless store in Buffalo. He stole several cellphones and cash from the store manager and three customers before fleeing in a getaway car.
Officers located the car the next day and arrested Haynes. He at first offered an alibi but later admitted to committing the crime and discarding the guns. The stolen cell phones were found at his girlfriend’s house and their batteries were in Haynes’ pockets.
When he is sentenced in January, he faces up to 25 years in state prison for each of the four counts of first degree robbery he pleaded guilty to.
