A two-week trial ended Monday with a 23-year-old man being convicted of shooting his victim at point blank range.
In August 2013, in broad daylight, Timothy Johnson walked up to his victim on Locust Street and shot him point blank in the chest. The bullet passed through the victim’s body, damaging muscle and bone.
Johnson ran to a home on Grape Street where he was caught minutes later. Police say they overheard him bragging to family members, “It was like ‘Boom!’ and I was out.”
Multiple witnesses identified Johnson.
He faces up to 40 years in prison when he is sentenced in February.
