New York State Police have arrested a man who they say violated an order of protection when he broke into the home of the protected victim.

Authorities say Gerardo Quiros, 28, of Medina entered a Town of Royalton home on Tuesday. An investigation revealed that Quiros caused damage to the home while breaking in and also stole property from the residence, police say. Quiros was previously ordered by a judge to stay away from the victim, who lives in the home.

Quiros is now facing charges of second degree burglary, fourth degree grand larceny, third degree criminal mischief and first degree criminal contempt, class E felonies.

Quiros was arraigned by a Town of Lockport Judge who remanded him to the Niagara County Jail on $30,000 cash bail. He is scheduled to appear before the Town of Royalton Court on December 11.
