A meth lab along with a defaced .308 caliber rifle was discovered on a Concord property following a traffic stop and burglary arrest.
The Erie County Sheriff's Office says they executed a search warrant early Friday morning at a property located off of Springville-Boston Road in Concord.
During the search, deputies discovered chemicals, materials, and supplies used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine. Deputies also say they found a .308 caliber rifle with the serial numbers defaced.
Police have charged 48 year-old Dawn Smercak and 46 year-old Hugh Smith with felony counts of unlawful manufacturing of methamphetamines, unlawful disposal of meth lab materials, reckless endangerment, criminal possession of a defaced weapon, and willful defacement of a gun.
Deputies say they have contacted the New York State Police Clandestine Lab Unit to dismantle the meth lab.
Both Smercak and Smith are being held at the Erie County Holding Center pending their arraignment.
