Pick-up truck driver dies in Genesee Co accident

A Genesee County man is dead, and his brother sent to the hospital, after a one vehicle crash in the Town of Pembroke.

Thursday morning, a pick-up truck, towing a small trailer was traveling down Angling Rd. when the truck left the road and hit a tree.

The driver, Alan Hargrave, was not breathing when Genesee County Sheriff's deputies arrived on the scene. First responders removed Hargrave from the vehicle and used a defibrillator to restart his breathing. Hargrave was then taken UMMC where he was pronounced dead.

Hargrave's brother and passenger, John Hargrave, was taken to ECMC as a precaution.

A preliminary investigation points to a medical emergency as the cause for Alan Hargrave losing control of the vehicle.
