Police spotted a suspected shoplifter as he ran down the road away from the store where he had allegedly stolen a computer cable and charger.
Troopers were called to Kmart on Military Road in the Town of Niagara after a shoplifter took off with the items, valued at around $20. Troopers spotted Steven Johnson, 38, of Lockport running down Porter Road and stopped him.
Johnson matched the description of the suspect and police say he had the stolen property, as well as marijuana, in his pockets. He was also positively identified by store security.
Johnson was issued appearance tickets for two counts of petit larceny and unlawful possession of marijuana.
