Three people were arrested by State Police over the weekend for allegedly driving while impaired or intoxicated.

Peter Boes, Jr., 39, of Lockport was arrested Friday. Troopers say he ran a red light on Lincoln Avenue in Lockport.

Police say he failed field sobriety tests and was issued an appearance ticket for DWAI by drugs and unlawful possession of marijuana.

On Saturday, Kenneth Hylkema was arrested after troopers saw him driving westbound in the eastbound lane on Dunnigan Road.

Troopers say the 44-year-old Lockport man failed field sobriety and had a BAC of .11 percent. He was arrested for DWI.

Finally, on Sunday, 59-year-old Arthur Pawlowski of Middleport was arrested for allegedly driving drunk and having drugs.

Police say Pawlowski failed field sobriety tests but refused to take a breath test. Troopers say he had a white powder substance in a plastic baggie in his pocket and pills.

He was arrested and charged with DWI, criminal possession of a controlled substance, refusing to take a breath test and having a controlled substance in a non-original container.

Pawlowski was taken to the Niagara County Jail on $500 bail.
