A man who was charged with molesting children after his brother was caught doing the same thing in Genesee and Niagara counties is going to jail for the rest of his life.
David Allen Vickers, 51, of Stanley in Ontario County was sentenced to the maximum in federal court on Wednesday. A federal grand jury found him guilty of transportation of minors with the intent to have sex last year,
Between 1999 and 2007, Vickers transported two minor victims to Canada, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, where the truck driver would repeatedly abuse and molest them while making deliveries.
Evidence in the trial revealed Vickers groomed other victims, who underwent extensive psychological manipulation, from as early as 1983.
He projected benevolence to the victims’ families and gained their trust. He would then bring victims to a bed and breakfast he owned on Seneca Lake, “Paradise on the Lake,” where he would gain victims’ trust by giving them alcohol, cigarettes, toys and access to ATVs. Vickers would then abuse them.
When he is sentenced in June, Vickers faces a minimum of 10 years in prison and a maximum of life.
He was caught after his brother, Sean Vickers, was charged with sex crimes in Genesee and Niagara counties. He was sentenced to serve 107 years in state prison after being found guilty of molesting three boys.
