Three men suspected of having a weapon led police on a chase before abandoning their vehicles and fleeing on foot.
Officers received a tip about men with a gun around 10 p.m. Wednesday night and attempted to stop the vehicle after the driver failed to signal. But police say the driver didn’t stop when officers activated their lights and sirens and instead led police on a short chase, which ended on Liberty Street.
The three men inside the vehicle abandoned it there and fled on foot. Inside the vehicle, police found a loaded semi-automatic rifle.
A K9 officer tracked one suspect to a closed porch room of a home. Allan Burnett, Jr. of Buffalo surrendered to police.
A second suspect was tracked to the upper apartment of a home on Prendergast Avenue. Laval Johnson of Jamestown also surrendered to officers.
Both Burnett and Johnson are charged with third degree criminal possession of a weapon and second degree obstruction of governmental administration.
Burnett was additionally charged with several vehicle and traffic laws, including failing to keep right, failing to signal, failing to comply and three counts of failing to stop for a stop sign.
The third suspect has not been located.
