A Williamsville man will spend at least five years in prison for trying to have inappropriate contact with a teenage girl.
50-year-old Christopher Chase pleaded guilty Friday to "attempted receipt of child pornography."
Chase was arrested and charged with enticing a minor in April 2017 after he had sexually explicit online conversations with an undercover law enforcement officer who was posing as a 15-year-old girl.
The U.S. Attorney's Office says Chase asked the undercover officer, shortly after the conversation began, "Well how old are you?" The undercover officer replied, "Well I'm almost 16."
According to an earlier report from the the U.S. Attorney's Office, Chase used the name "The Dark Father" and asked, "So, are you still looking for a boyfriend? And do you like older men?" He continued by saying he was looking for an "[e]specially submissive" girlfriend. Investigators say he then asked for a cell phone number to continue the conversation.
That report also stated that Chase sent a text message on March 11, 2017 asking, "Now the evil question are you really 18." The girl replied back saying she was only 15-years-old, but Chase continued to contact her, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
Chase then requested "naughty photos" and continued a graphic conversation detailing sexual activities, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
Chase then requested to meet the officer, who he believed was an underage girl, to engage in sexual activity.
On April 2, 2017, the U.S. Attorney's Office says Chase arrived at a Walgreens parking lot in Depew believing he was going to meet and have sexual intercourse with the teenage girl. He had condoms, sexual lubricant and a sexual toy with him when he was arrested.
The "attempting to receive child pornography" charge carries a minimum penalty of five years in prison, a maximum penalty of 20 years, and a $250,000 fine.
Sentencing is scheduled for June 6, 2018 at 12:30 p.m. before Judge Arcara.
