Police chase ends with man hiding in attic

Posted

A Fredonia man is arrested, accused of leading police on a car chase, ditching the car, then running away and hiding in an attic.

Dunkirk Police say 23-year-old Earvin Ezell hit a car then took off around 10:00 Tuesday night at the corner of S. Roberts Road and East 2nd Street.  Police put out a description of the car, and say they later tried to stop Ezell on Main Street, but he refused to stop.  Police chased him in their cars, and they say at one point Ezell made a U-turn and almost hit a Dunkirk Police patrol car.

Eventually police say Ezell jumped from the car and ran from police.  He went into an apartment on King Street, and officers found him hiding in an attic.  Police say he didn't live at the apartment and he didn't know the people who lived there.

He's facing charges of Resisting Arrest, Criminal Trespass, and was also issued 12 traffic tickets.
