Police have confirmed that the death of Upendra Bawa, who owned and operated the restaurant Taste of Life for more than twenty years, is being investigated as a murder.
On July 19th, 2016, Buffalo Police found Bawa's body in an upstairs apartment on Sycamore Avenue in East Buffalo, just after 5:30 p.m.
Police say the cause of death was blunt force trauma in their online homicide list. There's no word if there are any suspects or persons of interest in Bawa's death.
Back in July, Bawa's neighbors and restaurants told 7 Eyewitness News that he was murdered, and that his vehicle was stolen.
