Police: Woman fakes labor when pulled over

Posted

A couple is under arrest after police say the woman pretended to be in labor when the car she was in was pulled over.

The Wyoming County Sheriff's Office pulled over Michael and Victoria Young on North Main St. in the Village of Warsaw Tuesday after a deputy saw Michael Young driving a car with a suspended registration and no insurance.  When the deputy got to the car, police say Victoria Young told them she was 38 weeks pregnant and in labor.  Police escorted the couple to the hospital where medical staff told them Victoria Young was not pregnant, and had lied to police.

Police arrested Victoria Young for Falsely Reporting an Incident, and also found that there was a warrant for her arrest from the Olean Police Department for Petit Larceny.

The Sheriff's Office also found that there was an order of protection in place that required Michael Young to stay away from Victoria, so he was also arrested.  He's charged with Criminal Contempt, Operating a Vehicle While Registration Suspended, and Operating a Motor Vehicle without Insurance.

The couple will be in court in April to answer to the charges.
