State Assemblywoman Jane Corwin (R-144) will not seek reelection for the 144th Assembly district and will retire from the New York State Assembly at the end of this term.
In a statement, Corwin said she is proud of the work she has done to push for lawmaker term limits, and is going to “term herself out to let someone else have the opportunity to represent the community and bring Western New York values to the “people’s house.”
Corwin is a Republican who has been serving the 144th district since 2009. The 144th district includes parts of both Erie and Niagara counties, including Clarence, Alden, Lockport, Newfane, Wilson and Youngstown.
