Postal worker arrested for stealing checks from mail

A U.S. Postal worker is facing charges after Cheektowaga Police say he stole checks from the mail and cashed them.

Police say 29-year-old Jeffrey Watkins cashed the checks without the customers' knowledge.  Police say there were a number of victims, and that most of them were from the Walden Avenue, Pine Ridge Road, and Genesee Street areas.  Watkins is charged with several counts of Grand Larceny and Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument.
