Hundreds march down Elmwood Avenue in protest

Three people quickly turned into more than a hundred as protestors took over the corner of Elmwood Avenue and Bidwell Parkway.

Protestors held signs that said "no peace, no justice," and "the system works for some," as they chanted and began to march down Elmwood Avenue towards the city.

Some people we spoke with said that police misconduct needs to end, and it's time people are held accountable.

Protests both peaceful and violent have sparked all throughout the country in light of the deaths of both Eric Gardner, the man who was choked to death in New York City and Michael Brown who was shot and killed in Ferguson, Missouri.

Many are calling for changes in training for police, but some protestors say that body cameras on all officers may be the answer.

7 Eyewitness News spoke with local police officers and former District Attorney Frank Clark on the possibility of these cameras being implemented and what they thought.
