An unsuspecting shopper recently received a big surprise.
Sandra Davis contacted 7 Eyewitness News after she went to a local supermarket and discovered that someone had already paid for her groceries.
The good deed happened Monday at the Aldi on Sheridan Drive.
Davis says, while standing in the checkout line, a cashier pulled her aside and told her that a woman purchased several bags of groceries for her.
The bags were filled to the brim with pastas, cheeses, and vegetables. Davis says it was enough food to make a large meal that her family could eat for several days.
Davis says she is a widowed mother of two, is currently in college and works part-time, so money is tight. She says words can't explain how grateful she is for whoever opened their hearts to feed her and her family.
"In front of everybody, I started to cry," said Davis. "It wasn't cries of sadness, it wasn't cries of shame, it was cries of happiness, you know God answered my prayer. I know he sent an angel, and the angel is a person who bought those groceries for me."
Davis says she wants the person to know that their good deed did not go unnoticed.
