It's already time to start thinking about the race that will make room for all the turkey you'll be eating on Thanksgiving.
Registration for the 121st Annual YMCA Turkey Trot opens August 9 at 11 a.m.
Online registration is available at YMCABN.org until 12:00 noon on November 17, or until race capacity is reached.
This Thanksgiving Day tradition sells out early every year, so make sure to sign up ASAP!
The entry fee is $35 until October 16, and $40 after. The price includes a commemorative t-shirt, and proceeds raised help make YMCA programs and services available to children and families who would not be able to afford them without the help. Last year, participants helped YMCA Buffalo Niagara allocate nearly one million dollars.
The YMCA Turkey Trot is the oldest consecutively run footrace in North America, attracting 14,000 runners of all levels who run an 8K before their day of feasting.
The race begins at 9:00 a.m. sharp on Thursday, November 24 at the Delaware Family YMCA (2564 Delaware Ave.) and ends at Franklin and Court Streets near the Buffalo Convention Center.
A post-race celebration with awards will be held at the Convention Center, with a family friendly post race area across the street in Statler City.
