The calendar may say August 7th, but it's perfectly acceptable to start thinking turkey today. The YMCA Turkey Trot, that is.
Registration for the 8K race opened at 11 a.m. at YMCABN.org.
Buffalo's Turkey Trot, which takes place on Thanksgiving morning down Delaware Avenue, attracts 14,000 runners and walkers each year and routinely sells out. It is the oldest consecutively run footrace in North America.
Last year, participants helped YMCA Buffalo Niagara raise $1.2 million dollars to help families in need throughout Western New York.
