ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WKBW) — A Rochester man accused of taking part in the January riots at the U.S. Capitol has been denied bail.

Court paperwork says Dominic Pezzola threatened to kill Vice President Mike Pence when he and hundreds of others stormed the Capitol five weeks ago.

According to our ABC affiliate in Rochester, Pezzola pleaded not guilty to 11 charges, including conspiring to obstruct law enforcement.

Pezzola is being called a member of the "Proud Boys", a far-right white supremacist group, which his lawyers say he was not involved with until just before the riot.

Attorneys for Pezzola are scheduled to meet again on March 26 for a status hearing.
