Senator Charles Schumer is calling for Attorney General Jeff Sessions' resignation after Session "had weeks to correct the record" about his involvement with Russian officials.
According to CNN, Sessions spoke twice with the Russian ambassador to the U.S., but did not mention these communications during his confirmation hearing in January. At the time of his hearing, Americans were skeptical of Russia's possible interference with the presidential election.
"There cannot be even the scintilla of doubt about the impartiality and fairness of the Attorney General, the top law enforcement official in the land," said Senator Schumer.

Schumer says it is now clear that Sessions cannot lead an investigation into Russian interference and may, in fact, become the subject of the investigations.
"It would be of Alice in Wonderland quality if this administration were to sanction him to investigate himself," said Senator Schumer.
