The Erie County Sheriff's Office has arrested a Hamburg man in connection with a rash of home burglaries in the Southtowns.

Detectives say Daniel Bugenhagen, 36, broke into about a dozen homes in North Collins and the town of Boston over the past three weeks.

Investigators used the newly created Sheriff's Pawn Shop Database to find and identify some of the stolen items.

Bugenhagen is charged with five counts of felony burglary, four counts of felony grand larceny, one count of felony attempted burglary, one count of felony criminal mischief, one count of felony criminal possession of stolen property and one count of misdemeanor petit larceny.

He is locked up at the Erie County Holding Center on $7,500 bail.
