Radio Shack is closing more than half of their remaining stores in Western New York.
According to the company, seven WNY stores will be shut down. Some will be shut down immediately; others will close by the first week of April:
- Martin's Plaza, Dunkirk NY
- Niagara Consumer Square, Niagara Falls NY
- Wegman's Plaza (Military Road), Niagara Falls NY
- Mid-City Plaza, North Tonawanda NY
- Chautauqua Mall, Lakewood NY
- Town Hall Plaza, Hamburg NY
- Southside Plaza, Jamestown NY
Five locations will remain open: Buffalo, West Seneca, Lockport, Brockport and Olean.
In all, 552 stores are being closed nationwide, 36% of all Radio Shack locations. The company recently filed for bankruptcy for the second time.
The company says it will "continue to evaluate" their remaining 1,000 stores.
