Erie County Sheriff Tim Howard says his deputies arrested 8 people over the Memorial Day Weekend on DWI charges, many of them involved in accidents.
The Sheriff's office stepped up patrols in an effort to crack down on those drinking and driving over the four days.
The 8 arrests do not include other DWI charges issued by State Police and local law enforcement agencies in the county. The Sheriff arrests took place in Buffalo, Springville, Clarence and the towns of Brant, Boston and Marilla. One incident involved a hit and run on an ATV.
