Snow storm provides perfect backdrop for one couple's engagement photos

Posted

Seeing beauty isn't hard to do. Capturing it is. That's what Nick Dantonio does. He's a professional photographer. He mostly shoots weddings.

Thursday night, when western New York was getting upwards of two feet of snow, he knew exactly what he wanted to do with one of his clients.

“They wanted to do an engagement shoot in the snow,” said Dantonio.

“We were kind of scared because we thought we missed it,” said Josh Smucker, the groom-to-be.

Dantonio took Smucker and Ryenne Proefrock, the bride-to-be, deep into the woods behind his Warsaw home for an engagement shoot they won't soon forget.

“If you look quick, it almost looks like they're in a snow cave,” said Dantonio. “The shots took a lot because it's dark, we're in the woods, there's no light, there's not natural light. We're using flashlights and headlamps”

When the snow was pilling up, an outgoing photographer and a willing couple took a chance. When most were bundled up inside, they ventured out. And a deep walk into the snowy Wyoming County woods became the picture perfect start for one young couple.
