Travelers could experience the ripple effect from the Nor’Easter. Buffalo won’t get hit by the blizzard. But, plenty of cities used for connecting flights and final destinations are bracing for significant snowfall.
Washington and Baltimore airports will see flight cancelations beginning Friday afternoon, with all flights canceled Saturday. A blizzard watch is in effect sat morning through Sunday afternoon for New York City and Long Island. American Airlines is canceling all flights from NYC airports beginning Saturday afternoon and resuming Sunday.
Plenty of travelers have their eye on the storm. “My husband had to fly into NYC for a conference. He's there through Saturday. We're hoping he can get out with this Nor'easter that's coming to get to Chicago for a family wedding. We're thinking he might have to switch to Friday night,” Amherst resident, Anne Keating said. “My big fear was that my flight would be canceled because of all the delays. Heard it could be canceled. Right now my flights on time,” said Steven Gordon of Boston, MA.
All major airlines have issued waivers for travel over the weekend. That will allow passengers to rebook to avoid the storms. That means if you're flying from or through places like Virginia, New Jersey or New York City, you can reschedule your flight free of charge.
