Some people call him a "watchmaker" but Bob Hoffman refers to himself more accurately as a horologist. He says "that's just somebody that studies and works with time."
Bob's business is Buffalo Watch and Clock repair. To do his work he says you need math skills, steady nerves and one very important trait-patience, adding "every clock is essentially the same, you're going to start with the largest wheel and work your way down to the smallest wheel."
Bob Hoffman has been working on timepieces of all kinds for 42 years. His hamburg shop is packed with clocks coming in and going out. When it comes to fixing them Bob has to take them completely apart before he puts them together again.
Bob's son Matt is his partner. Besides repairs, the family business also sells jewelry, clocks and some reconditioned Grandfather Clocks.
