If you've ever walked out to your car to find flowers or candy, you might be on the receiving end of a kindness movement in Western New York. It's called Sprinkle Kindness, and it's organized by a mom from Amherst and her two kids. Every week, they do something to put a smile on someone else's face.
The kids, Leyla and Zane, have donated food to Compass House, brought toys to Oishei Children's Hospital, and delivered flowers for Mother's Day. They hope their small acts brightens someone's day, and then the kindness is passed on.
"I think they're starting to think - which is true - that at a small age they can change the world. And they have an impact on the world by doing things like this," explained their mom, Nuska Switzer.
"You can be kind to others, and then others can be kind too, Because if we didn't, the world wouldn't be a good place," said Leyla.
The kids are hoping to do one act of kindness every week for a year. They're tracking each of their acts on their Facebook page, Sprinkle Kindness. You can check it out here.
