GEDDES, N.Y. (AP) — For the fourth year in a row, the New York State Fair hit a new attendance record while also setting several single-day records.

Governor Andrew Cuomo said at least 1.33 million people came to the fair during its 13-day run. Last year's attendance was under 1.28 million.

"The Fair is a celebration of the state — especially upstate New York — and it represents our spirit and what we have to offer," Governor Cuomo said.

This year's fair offered an increase in free entertainment including music performances and new shows.

Cuomo also took this time to announce last year's tourism numbers. Nearly 253 million visitors traveled to New York State in 2018, generating an economic impact of $114.8 billion. That's an increase from $100 billion the year before.

The fair ends Monday night. Next year's fair takes place August 26 through September 7, 2020.
