A task force appointed to look for ways to make it easier to do business in New York state has released 26 recommendations.
The state's Business Regulation Council submitted its report to Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo and top lawmakers on Friday.
The list of ideas includes long-term goals like streamlined environmental permitting and reforms to insurance regulations. They also include changes to commercial vehicle inspections and statewide rules on plastic bags and microbeads to prevent local governments from setting their own restrictions on the two sources of environmental pollution.
The proposals will now be considered by Cuomo and lawmakers, who plan to adjourn their 2016 session later this month.
