Statler falcon fledgling injured

Posted
On July 5th, Buffalo Police called the SPCA after a Peregrine Falcon was found on the corners of Pearl and Swan.

A rescue agent picked up the animal and brought it back to the Erie County SPCA's Wildlife Department.  An examination of the bird determined that the bird has a broken coracoid (part of the shoulder). This is an injury that is often cured with stabilization.

The DEC has determined that this is Franklin, the Statler fledgling, according to his bands. The SPCA is hoping that with rest and relaxation this bird will recover fully.
