Assault rifles, handguns, and up to $80,000 worth of street drugs were swept up in a series of raids in Buffalo.

The culmination of a six month police investigation by the Erie County Sheriff's Department and Buffalo Police, investigators began executing search warrants at 6 a.m. Thursday morning.  Most of the raids were centralized in the Broadway & Bailey Avenue area. The raids are ongoing.

Isiah Pierce, 33, and Larry Willis, 31, have been arrested in connection with the case.  Both of the accused have prior drugs and weapons convictions.

Investigators say Pierce and Willis are a "danger to the community."  They expect several charges to be laid against the two men.

Heroin, fentanyl, and 13 ounces of cocaine were among the drugs on display during a news conference Thursday evening.  In addition, at least five guns had been recovered.
