A wooded area on North Forest Rd. in Amherst is no longer slated to become a student housing. Developers want to create a student housing complex with more than 150 units to house University of Buffalo students.
Monday night, the Amherst Town Board put the developer’s plans on hold.
A group of business owners who work in the Bryant Woods Business Park said there would be security and traffic issues in the area. The business park is located next to where the complex would have been.
The businessmen used police reports form similar complexes to make their point. In the past year, there were nearly 400 police calls to the three closest student housing complexes to the school.
