Students learning "the Internet is forever"

Posted

Whether it's the job hunt or searching for schools, students who grew up with the rise in popularity of social media are learning what they posted way back when can stick around.

Arlene Kaukus, Career Office Director at University at Buffalo, says when you post something online, "it has a life." She added it reflects on you as long as it remains on the Internet.

Kaukus says with the way social media has transformed, the way students use sites now is very different from how they used them five years ago. But whatever remains online is still a reflection of the poster.
