Another report of suspicious activity over the weekend have police reminding residents to verify the identity of any person who comes to their home claiming to be a utility worker.
Lancaster Police say detectives responded to a report on Church Street in the Village of Lancaster about a man taking pictures of the resident's satellite dish and connections on the outside of his house.
Officials say the man then told the resident that he needed to check the ground wire in the basement. The resident told officials he let the man inside, but did not let him out of his sight.
The resident contacted the satellite company after the man left who told him they did not send anyone out to his home. If they had, the company said the employee would have been wearing a uniform and have company identification.
Police say the suspect in this incident was not wearing uniform and did not have any identification.
The only description the resident was able to provide is the subject is a well-dressed white male.
