Select Target stores will soon undergo $7 billion worth of changes to get shoppers back in their isles.
The department store’s CEO Brian Cornell announced the plans this week in Las Vegas where he unveiled the new layout. Cornell says they’re expecting a total revamp, including separate entrances, new LED track lighting, special Brand boutiques showcasing rotating looks, and 10-minute parking for people picking up online order.
Isles will be curved rather than squared off in an attempt to inspire people to explore more.
The first redesigned store will hit Houston this Fall with 40 more stores following suit by October. More than 600 of Target’s 1,800 total locations are slotted for updates over the next three years. Target expects the remodeled stores to see a 2% to 4% sales bump.
