A teenage boy has pleaded guilty to manslaughter after the beating death of a boy in Marilla in March, 2017.
Devon VanDerWege was arrested and charged in this case. He pleaded guilty, Monday, in State Supreme Court.
Ethan Bigham's paternal grandmother confirms to 7 Eyewitness News, that the 2-year-old suffered catastrophic brain injuries and was pronounced brain dead at Women and Children's Hospital. The toddler was being kept on life-support so his organs could be donated.
Emergency crews were called to Hillside Estates, a mobile home park in Marilla, last year, where the two-year-old was being watched by VanDerWege.
The teenager will be sentenced at a later time.
