HAMBURG, N.Y. (WKBW-TV) — It takes countless cables, lots of lights and hours of man and women power to get the Shrine Circus ready to go. Mike Hackford is this year's Shrine Circus Chairman and he says that helping kids is still the Shriners number one mission saying "We have twenty-two hospitals throughout the U.S. and Canada that fulfill that mission quite nicely." Proceeds from the circus pay for the Shrine Hospitals and other services provided to kids and their families.

The Hamid Circus is providing a plethora of amazing performances. Fourteen year-old James Hamid is a juggler in the show. He says, along with many other members of the family, he's been performing since he was three years old. His Dad Jim owns the circus.

According to Mike Hackford, because of new laws in N.Y. State, this will be the last year that the elephants will make an appearance. The Shrine circus will present ten performances through the weekend. Tickets are available at the Events Center box office at the Fairgrounds and on Tickets.com
