Buffalo Suzuki Strings performing in China

Posted

They were tuning up for one last practice before heading off to China for a ten day tour. The young musicians are members of  the Friendship Touring Ensemble, part of the Buffalo Suzuki Strings.

Mary Cay Neal, Executive Director says "the reason we choose to go on international tours is to show our students that people all over the world are very much the same." She also points out that these remarkable young musicians have been working towards this trip for three years.

In it's forty-nine year history, the Friendship Touring Ensemble has traveled to twenty-four countries. For this group of young performers, it's their first time to shine in another part of the world. Pianist Gio Kharchilava says "It's just unbelievable that I'll get to share my music with other people on another continent."

The group will perform three times in China, do some sight seeing and interact with students. For more information about Buffalo Suzuki Strings you cancheck out their website.
